Introduction

Asset Explorer workspace.png

Workspace is a focal point within the Asset Explorer where the users can manage, organise, and access their assets.

To find this screen, select Media > Asset Explorer from the menus.

The results of asset searches are shown in the Workspace. Assets can then be selected for operations such as downloading, marking favourites, or deletion.

Assets are shown in a grid or a list form. You can toggle between these using the icons on the right of the Collections button on the toolbar.

At the very top of the screen on the right is the Quick Search box, and the icon on the left side of that box takes you to Advanced Search. The main menu area is on the left of this part of the screen, and a link to the Help Centre is to the right of the Quick Search box.

Below the Quick Search box is the Toolbar, described here: Asset Explorer - Toolbar

Below that is the main part of the workspace. The number of assets found is shown on the top left of this area, and you can move through the pages of results by using the numbers on the right, or by clicking on 'Next'. There is also a dropdown list of pages to select.

Moving assets into and out of a collection

To move assets into a collection, select them by ticking the checkboxes by the thumbnails and drag and drop them into a collection as shown below. The collection is highlighted in green with a + symbol when you drag the assets into it.

To remove assets from a collection, select the collection in the Navigator panel, then tick the assets to remove and use the 'Remove Assets' icon on the left of the toolbar to remove them, see below.

The context menu icon below and to the right of each thumbnail allows users to create new collections and add the asset to them, to rename the asset or to edit the asset metadata.

Setting User Preferences

The Preferences icon (cog) below that brings up a window where the following items can be configured for your own account (see screen shot below):

  • Set the data fields to be used in Advanced Search
  • Set the data fields to be used in Filters (accessed through the panel on the right)
  • Set the data to be shown in the Properties panel (accessed on the right)
  • Set the data fields to be shown in the grid or list view under thumbnails in the Workspace
